Community Information
Gresham,
OR, Website
Gresham, Oregon: Between the big-city hustle to the west and the solitude
of the countryside to the east, you will find Gresham - fourth largest city
in Oregon. For decades, the City of Gresham has experienced rapid population
growth. Home of Miss Oregon 2003.
The quality of life experienced
by our citizens is superb. The community's image and amenities depend on
a financially sustainable future, open spaces,
parks, community events, quality commercial, and industrial development, and
an excellent infrastructure system. The "good life" for our citizens
depends heavily on our commitment to having a vision and the willingness to
follow it through.
The City has taken a visionary land-use direction by creating three exciting
neighborhood districts along the MAX light rail line. These districts offer
unique opportunities for urban development and redevelopment. Through private
and public partnerships like our Mayor's Business Advisory Round Table and
the Gresham International Relations Coalition, we're taking proactive, creative,
and assertive action to continually find ways to improve the image and quality
of livability for our citizens and community.
With a population of over 90,000, Gresham is Oregon's fourth largest city.
Together with the neighboring community of Troutdale, the Gresham area offers
a wide variety of shopping, tourism and business opportunities.
Gresham is known as "the City of Music," hosting
the annual Mt. Hood Jazz Festival every summer. Whether you are relaxing
to an evening of
fine Northwest Cuisine, enjoying one of several musical events, or participating
in outdoor sports and recreation, Gresham is a great destination with endless
possibilities.
Go hiking or biking on the many trails and parks or indulge in 18 holes on
a world class golf course. Experience daily excursions to the scenic Columbia
River Gorge, only fifteen minutes away. This National Scenic Area boasts one-of-a-kind
views of the Columbia Gorge, created by the river cutting through the Cascade
Mountains on its way to the picturesque Pacific Ocean. Miles of hiking trails
make for easy access to hundreds of beautiful waterfalls throughout the region.
