Tillamook's lush grasses, nurtured by up to 72 inches
of rain a year, sustain the herds that compose Oregon's dairy industry.
Much of the
county's annual milk production of 25 million gallons is made into
natural cheddar cheese.
The town is a major recreation center; crabbing, fishing hiking, boating,
hang-gliding, and a variety of other activities are only a short
drive away. The town also sponsors the Dairy Festival and Rodeo in late June.
