Vernonia, OR Website
Founded in 1891 on the banks of the Nehalem River, Vernonia is a logging
and recreational center. Lake Vernonia, formerly the mill pond for
the lumber mill, is stocked with trout, crappie, and bass.
Vernonia is northwest of Portland via highways 26 and 47, situated
in the back country of Columbia County.
Vernonia is part of the Portland-Vancouver, Oregon-WA metro area.
